That half an hour boat ride was awesome!!!

We had a fantastic hike to Paria Bay and Waterfall. Ingredients: mud and hills, waterfall, thrilling boat ride, and food; spiced with exhaustion and adrenalin.

The route started out on the road, but soon turned into a true trail with a series of steep climbs and drops to the sea. To soon we were thoroughly soaked with sweat, but the hillsides were beautiful enough to provide distraction. I have to say “Nuff Respect” to the ladies (myself included) that kept up with the changelling pace…

Paria Bay has the best beach (secluded hmmmm, like those longtime love novels) that I have ever seen, just imagine sand so soft and unmarked by footprints. But even better is the waterfall which is about ah good 15-20 minutes away from the beach. What relief it was to jump into the pool at the base of the falls! Which most of us did.

Topping that off was a *very* thrilling boat ride by pirogue in the big swells back to civilization
